Pre-Camp Mailings
Here's a description of some of the pre-camp mailings that have been sent. Click on the link to learn more:
Ten Rules for Camp Counselors, written by Pastor Jeff Barrows for a member of his congregation who was a counselor at camp in the 90s. It's humorous, but with a lot of truth about why we feel called to work at camp. Read it. It applies to all of us on staff, counselors as well as those with other positions.
A Things To Remember sheet should answer many of the questions you have been wondering about. If you still have questions after reading this, please e-mail (molly@losd.org) or call me (605-673-4040).
The What to Bring Checklist will help you prepare for camp. Remember space for storage is very limited and that some of you will be moving all your stuff several times during the summer. Keep it simple! That's part of what camp life is about and part of living out our faith this summer. It can be an experience of growth to discover how little you really need to live a happy life.
Did you know you can Earn College Credit while working for Lutherans Outdoors this summer? Through a special arrangement with Augustana College, you can earn three college credits for what you learn in staff training. Students pay $25 per credit hour, Lutherans Outdoors and Augustana cover the rest of the cost.
